Staring vacantly into the window of an up-market Kensington bookshop – modern firsts, glossy leather, decorative bindings – my eye was caught by a framed poster. No longer is it possible to simply don a thin wool jumper beneath an oversized sleeping bag and get away with it. Head to Toe: Set aside any quaint ideas about the twinset – today’s translation of the knitted two-piece sees woollen layers from head to toe.
